Thinking about starting a real online business? Do you have an e-business....but little to NO sales? You'll need to know what to sell and what has the potential to sell.
You must remember that customers buy products when they don't feel the need to smell, touch or closely examine what
you sell. Familiar products and services are best because they don't carry shocks or surprises upon delivery. Buyers
should already have a fairly good idea of what they will be getting from you.
Since it's up to you to remove the mystery of buying
advertising, books, music, videos, travel CD's and anything you might sell online, do your homework. There are wide
ranges of products and services available for customers to buy. Many of them do sell very well online. Your marketing
and advertising plans are very crucial to your success in e-sales.
Even travel offers online convenience, It does appear to
sell well online. Internet convenience is easier than making shopping trips to stores. Even with holiday shopping, there
are crowded malls, dark parking lots and other things to consider when shopping. Safety is a real issue with local
neighborhood shopping. Many people are unable to shop in offline malls so they might prefer e-shopping, especially for the holidays.
Yes, most people do prefer to know exactly what they will be getting from you. The internet "comparison" shopping
experience is great for finding the best prices, sizes and colors. E-variety has been a huge success for the bargain hunters and high ticket shoppers of the world!
There are some items that consumers would much rather actually touch, see, feel and hear. Electronics have been a
hot commodity for consumers for a while but some of them might not do as well online. Why? Because buyers may want to personally check out all of the product features.
Sometimes, consumers might see a particular item in a brick and mortar store and check it out. Once they know the style
and model they want, they could go comparison shopping online and buy the item over the internet.
Items that can be difficult to find can sell well online.
Try to offer a unique product that can't be easily found in stores. That way, you'll be offering people the chance to
purchase online. In rural or remote areas it can be a lot harder to find certain types of products. This increases
the likelihood that consumers will turn to the internet to find the things they need. Be sure to advertise your offers.
For many people transportation is a shopping issue.
Many products and services sell online and some things
definitely sell better than others. You must identify unique products so you can target them to specific markets. This
helps to create a win-win situation for you and the buyer.
Here's a few tips to guide you into Sales Success:
1. Make it Ease to Shop...AND Buy!
Create a "shopping experience" Checking out MUST be simplified, not aggravating. Clear and concise details and
in some cases pictures or photos, are a must. Your aim is to give site visitors a sense of touching, feeling and smelling your products as much as possible.
2. Rapid OR Free Delivery - ( maybe even Holiday Rush Service ) Post shipping details on your website. State full costs right up-front. Remember that Free delivery is an
attractive factor in swaying buyers to buy from you. Secure payment methods and prices are also important.
3. "About Me" pages help trust and credibility.
State your name and a business name, your postal address
and a phone number. Who you are and your location, will always be important to consumers. State guarantees and return policies. Buyers must have a way to contact you.
4. Secure Shopping is also very important. Use secure servers for payments and post your security terms and policies.
5. Do you offer competitive pricing?
Settle on prices that will appeal to your buyers. If your price is higher that's fine; just explain why you're worth
MORE money to them. Consumers will pay for quality at value prices. You must BE worth your prices.
Accurate pricing according to your individual worth can make
or break you. You can literally out-fox yourself, if you try to break the bank with cheap, sub-par offers, that everyone
else is selling. Build trusty business relationships, create an honorable following and all these things will fall in place, in due time.
