Are You a Good Loser? Copyright © Marion Stearns - All Rights Reserved
====================
Grace in victory and defeat needs to be practiced. Ideally, your emotional response should be just about the same.
E-commerce advertising and sales, in general are comprised of many ups and downs. When you promote anything for a
living, the highs and lows are simply, everyday events. How you deal with grace under fire separates the men from the
boys and the women from the girls. It's best to remain cool in both situations!
Perhaps you've been taught to gracefully shake hands and
congratulate your opponent, one who just beat you. Hopefully he or she has been taught to act the same way.
We hear things like this all the time
"They sure played a good game," "She did her best"
"I took my best shot" "It wasn't meant to be for us."
These are all the things that the smartest and best competitors learn to say, even with a smile and clenched teeth! Can YOU smile when you hear your winning opponent say
something like this? ....
....."On this day we were the better team"
If not, you need more practice and I don't mean becoming a perpetual loser. Self talk works just fine. Look IN the mirror and be nice.
Grace under fire, in victory or defeat, is a mandatory sales skill. It is globally admired by everyone. In many ways it can lead to additional business for you. Class
and Manners never go out of style.
