Forward Momentum Saves the Day

====================

In sales, being thick-skinned, hard-headed and stubborn are
all good things. Allowing things to bounce off of you like
a rubber ball isn't always easy. Many people internalize
everything. Since internalizing creates emotional explosions,
work on overcoming that very human trait with a little
effort.

Always consider the source. Who said this? Sure, it might be
a big account, but it isn't your only account. It might be a
disgruntled client or a competitor. Being right isn't the
issue. Forward momentum is always the issue. Keep on moving
while under pressure. Why? Because you'll take fewer
casualties if you move on. Standing still when you're about
to be pounded is never a good business or personal strategy.
Defend your position with e-class! Then move on.

If you have to take a few negative shots, poise yourself to
shoot back with a couple of well thought out, counter
punches. You really don't have to offend anyone, but don't
ever roll over and play dead either. People do respond to
class acts and actions, courage and stamina. Never be afraid
to show a little clout in adversity, but it isn't sensible
to fight. Stand up for who you are.... AND what you have
accomplished. "IF" anything, then always move on.

Your unique branding must be done at the highest level, over
time. We all pay our e-dues in time when building a business
reputation. If your expertise isn't what it should be, use
caution. Can you stand on your own merits? If not, mud
slinging never works, so stay out of the dirt.

Persistence and stubbornness are really the same thing.
Persistence is admired. Calvin Coolidge described it
perfectly:

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not do it. Nothing is more common than an
unsuccessful man with talent.

Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The
slogan "Press on" has solved and always will solve The
problems of the human race."

Forward Momentum saves the business day!
