Balance IS Over-Rated!
What IS it that you do best?
How can you manage to do more of it?
No time?
Oh really?
Balance in life is certainly over-rated. There is nothing
wrong with being a one-trick magician as long as you HAVE a
good trick up your sleeve. We just work so hard to correct
faults and errors that we forget to build on our solid
strengths. That is always counter-productive.
Can we fix it? Sure we can !
Why "NOT" forget about your weaknesses..... since you wont
live long enough to fix all of them anyway? Concentrate on
becoming a student of your OWN success. Forget imitation and
study your OWN track records. It's a fabulous class to take
and it might help you forget the low points that plague you.
Go to the head of YOUR class....YOU!.
First, make a list of your BEST wins. Figure out traits or
skills that were common to every victory, that you ever
achieved. Always look for situations that will fortify your
strengths. Forget the weak spots. Forget what others have
done. We're talking about YOU here.
Which referrals somehow just fell into your lap? Why did
they bomb out? How MANY were hard as heck to close? Talk to
key clients and ask them to tell you what they DO like,
about doing business with you. Ask a few clients. They
should already know that you have no interest in the bad
side of the story. You want the GOOD stuff here. You'll
then USE the good stuff to overcome your weak spots.
If you write super price quotes, use them on everything. If
you can charm ducks out of ponds, look for ponds full of
ducks. An empty pond will NOT do. If you sell your service
better than others, look for those who DO need it.
Whatever it is, go after your strengths. Look to "YOU" for
answers. Dwelling on losses will kill your sales spirit and
lower your income level. Makes sense? You better believe it
does!
Sooner or later, your weaknesses will fade, without you ever
having to worry about them. What do you really like to do
best? Can't you DO more of it? What do you absolutely hate?
Skimp, outsource, delegate, do what it requires, to do a LOT
less of your least favorite drawbacks!
Final thought ---Your victories pay the bills!
Forget balance unless you are already earning a big fat
check. You are only "temporarily" by-passing a "lifestyle"
to GAIN a FUTURE LIFE, for you and your family. The
temporary trade-off just MIGHT yield amazing results.
